THE EYE CLINIC HELD ON THE 5TH OF NOVEMBER 2011 WAS A GREAT SUCCESS. MANY THANKS TO ALL THAT ATTENDED THE CLINIC AND ESPECIALLY DR. IZAK VENTER FROM THE EYE ANIMAL HOSPITAL AS WELL AS HENRIETTE VAN DER ZWAN FROM THE INQABA BIOTEC LABORATORIES FOR THE DNA TESTS ON PRA AND EIC. WITHOUT YOU IT WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN POSSIBLE. THROUGH ALL THE HARD WORK WE HAD QUITE A LOT OF FUN AND LAUGHS THAT ONLY A LABRADOR CAN PROVIDE. THIS CLINIC WILL BE HELD ANNUALLY AND MAYBE WE WILL SEE MORE BREEDERS WITH THEIR DOGS IN FUTURE. LAST BUT NOT LEAST A BIG THANKYOU TO DI HOLMAN WHO MADE ALL THIS POSSIBLE BY SUGGESTING THE EYE CLINIC. YOUR HELP AND INVOLVEMENT WITH THE MEMBERS IS OUTSTANDING.
Eye Clinic
Lizette Smith has organised an Eye Clinic doing SAVA eye tests for those breeders and owners in her area who are not able to come up to Johannesburg to have it done. We urge all LRKC members in the area to please support this initiative and to spread the word to friends who are possibly not members of the club. We, as the LRKC, support responsible breeding and ownership and testing your Labradors eyes regularly is important. Details are as follows:
Eye Clinic – SAVA eye tests, (Animal Eye Hospital) will be held on 5 November 2011
LEEUDORINGSTAD (NORTH WEST PROVINCE) at a cost of R210 per dog
Testing for DNA, PRA and EIC will also be available on the same day at a special price
